Thank you for your interest in Granite Hill and for perusing our list of themed weekends. We strive to offer a wonderful camping experience as well as a plethora of activities of all kinds for both the young and young at heart.   Reservations are taken one year in advance on a rolling basis.  Current campers have the first opportunity to renew their same site each weekend if done by close of business on Saturday evening.   We are currently taking reservations for the following dates and events 2024.  Did you miss getting a sewer site this year? or your favorite tent site?  Then secure your favorite site or sites now for these fun-filled camping weekends! Groups are highly encouraged to call early to reserve sites together! OPENING WEEKEND~52nd Season!

APRIL 5-7, 2024

Springtime is officially here and that means it’s time to dust off your camper and make your way to Granite Hill. We hope to make this season one of the best yet and your vacation and stay with us both wonderful and memorable.  Please join us in making s’more memories in kicking off our 52nd season by enjoying a lovely quiet weekend of camping, relaxing by a bonfire in the cool spring weather and watching the world bloom. To kick off the season, our seasonal campers are invited to join in a social hour and potluck dinner.  Please RSVP to Cora in the camp store to let her know if you will be in attendance!

 


SUPERHEROES BOGO WEEKEND

April 12-14, 2024

All are welcome, but heroes are revered with a special BUY ONE GET ONE FREE weekend!  The discount applies to the base rate only and the maximum discount is $53. The discount does not apply on hookup, extra people, and taxes.  Advance reservations are required.  When you come in to camp with us, make sure to show us your military, fire, EMS, police ID and badge. Enjoy the spring weather and participate in a virtual scavenger hunt, test your skills with rod & reel, play mini golf, paddle around Lake Lily!  The activities team is excited to kickoff the season and welcome you back for arts & crafts, ceramics, and games! EARTH DAY WEEKEND

April 19-21, 2024

This year’s Earth Day is a perfect reminder that we all need to take care of our beautiful land and country.  Now is your chance to be a part of Granite Hill history and help care for the land on which you are camping by sponsoring and naming a new tree to be planted here at the park.  By participating in this event, you and your family for generations to come can return to Granite Hill to visit your family tree!  Boyer Nurseries & Orchards, Inc. a local nursery will be supplying the trees.  Campers are invited to sponsor a Red Maple, Sugar Maple, Pin Oak, Red Bud and possibly some other varieties of trees for $75-$90.  The trees will range in size from 4′-6′ and will be planted at a later date.  Donors and trees will be listed on our campground map and tree markers will be placed for your family to visit year after year! Invest in our planet while enjoying a fun-filled weekend of camping.  Other events include ghost stories, crafts, scavenger hunt and a  horseshoe tournament! Enjoy a quiet Saturday evening making s’more memories ‘round the campfire.

TROUT DERBY WEEKEND

April 26- 28, 2024

Show off your sgills and flex your fishing mussels this weekend for a chance to win a FREE WEEKEND OF CAMPING at our 52nd Annual Trout Derby! Our trout pond will be fully stocked and ready for you to cast your rod! Men, women, and children are invited to compete for prizes by catching the longest fish within their categories. May 3-5, 2024

Whether you’re celebrating Cinco de Mayo or May the 4th Granite Hill will gladly accommodate you this weekend! Join us for a family-friendly mini golf tournament for the chance to win various mining rough bags and the Big Bonanza Bucket Jackpot! Age groups will be determined by the turnout, so no one will be left out of the fun. All participants can sign up at check-in, and are encouraged to take a free practice round the night before the tournament on Friday evening. MOTHER’S DAY WEEKEND & karaoke @ café

May 10-12, 2024

Treat your mom or special mother figure to a weekend all about her! The weekend’s itinerary will begin with happy hour at the Red Shed Café with app & drink specials where moms will enjoy a complimentary glass of wine and have the opportunity to meet other amazing women. Our activities directors will pump up the jam and keep the kids entertained on Saturday afternoon so moms can maximize their relaxation. Kids will have the opportunity to make a special craft for mom and Saturday evening the entire family is invited back to the Red Shed for Karaoke at the Café, then retreat back to the campfire and make s’more memories with your wonderful family.   Upon awakening Sunday morning, head back to the Red Shed Café for a complimentary Mother’s Day pancake breakfast! MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

A good man is hard to find, which is precisely why it’s so important to celebrate the ones we’ve found! Kickoff the weekend with happy hour at the Red Shed Café with app & drink specials. When you’ve been working hard and need a break, sometimes it’s best to just lei down or better yet don your parrot-fan-ilia, tie-dye shirts, grass skirts, and coconut bras, and treat yourself by retreating to Granite Hill for our Tropical Paradise Weekend, where Margaritaville meets Gettysburg’s pastoral splendor.  Enjoy a delicious Pig Roast Potluck and Margaritaville dance party, as well as the usual Granite Hill camping fun!  This weekend, you can participate in a horseshoe tournament, make arts and crafts, tie-dye shirts, wow us with your hula hooping skills, sing, dance and roast s’mores, all in one weekend! CHRISTMAS IN JULY

According to legend, Christmas in July was first celebrated at a summer camp in 1933, when Keystone Camp in Brevard, N.C. decided to dedicate two days (July 24 and 25) to the holiday! This celebration is all about taking Christmas and winter holiday traditions and making them fun for summer!  Want to go sledding? No problem, Santa’s elves will have the Slip-N-Slide ready for you! Do you wanna build a snowman? Come to Santa’s workshop and try to build a sandman. Pack your lights and blow ups for the decorated campsite competition, be creative! The best traditional and non-traditional decorated sites win prizes.   Pack your Christmas best for pictures with Santa Claus and a special wintery princess and the opportunity to get a jumpstart on your Christmas cards, friendly pets welcome! MARYLAND CRAB & CORN FEAST

August 9-11, 2024

Sink your claws into a delicious feast here at the campground with our annual Maryland Crab and Adams County Corn Feast! In addition to all the classic Granite Hill fun— roasting s’mores over ghost stories, sunbathing by the pool, going for a hayride jaunt, participating in game tournaments, making arts and crafts, and so on. Saturday night, we will be providing just-caught Maryland Blue Crabs (1’s and 2’s) and fresh, crisp corn on the cob from Adams County! Campers will scuttle back to their campsites to enjoy their feasts. Don’t forget to pack your favorite pickin’ utensils and supplies. Each dozen of crabs will be priced at market prices and includes 6 ears of corn. After treating yourself to a delicious meal, rave on as evening falls to tunes spun by our DJs outside the Sterling Pavilion (weather permitting)! Then test your luck at Music Bingo on Sunday evening! We’ll have fun for all ages—from shuffleboard to gem mining to s’mores around the campfire—to leave your family buzzing with warm memories in spite of the cold weather to come. Gettysburg Wine & Music Festival

September 6-8, 2024

New this September, the Chamber of Gettysburg & Adams County presents the 20th Anniversary Gettysburg Wine & Music Festival at Granite Hill (formerly held at Gateway Gettysburg). Savor hundreds of wines from Pennsylvania wineries, spirits from Pennsylvania distilleries, and enjoy great live music.  Special camping, Glamping and hotel packages will be offered as well as shuttles to area hotels and downtown Gettysburg. Visit www.gettysburgwine.com for more information on vendors, live entertainment, tickets and more.  And don’t forget to follow the festival on Facebook and join their mailing list for the most up to date information!   While we think you’ll want to attend the wine festival, should you choose not partake in the fun, Granite Hill remains open for camping and festival tickets are not require in order to camp this weekend. Tickets and proper ID are required to enter the festival.  Granite Hill will offer regularly scheduled activities such as arts & crafts, ceramics, tie-dying, tournaments and the Granite Hill Mining Co., Adventure Golf, and Red Shed Café will all be in full operation!

 


PICL BIKE RACE WEEKEND ~ Grinnin’ at Granite

September 13-15, 2024

This weekend will be the 6th anniversary of Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League event held at Granite Hill. Reserve a spot to attend these NICA-sanctioned races which provide student athletes an environment to bring to fruition their competitive aspirations! We guarantee every participating student athlete will be given a fast and fun atmosphere with NICA-refined class-leading professional race promotion, timing, course preparation, and risk management delivered by our highly experienced event promoters.  For more information about PICL, visit http://www.pamtb.org/. WITCHES AND WIZARDS ~ 8th YEAR

September 20-22, 2024

In June of 1997, J.K. Rowling first released Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the premier of the series. No one had ever before read such wonderful, outlandish words. Readers all over the world became absorbed in the pages, immersed in the wizarding world. Children began to wait outside by their mailboxes come the arrival of their 11th birthdays, hoping to find a letter admitting them to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry engraved with their name.

Join us at Granite Hill for our 8th Annual Witches and Wizards weekend and delight as your daydreams become tangible all around you! Get sorted into your Hogwarts House, make your own wand, stroll down Diagon Alley, attend magical lessons, and participate in a virtual hunt for horcruxes!  Cap off your magical day letting loose and dancing under the stars at the Hogwarts Yule Ball, all with your favorite wizarding friends!  Don’t forget to pack proper attire!

SUMMER CONCERT SERIES #4 – THE WILLY’S & FAIRFIELD PIPPENFEST

September 27-29, 2024

Upon your arrival on Friday, stop by the Red Shed Café for happy hour with app & drink specials.  This weekend, the cozy town of Fairfield, PA will host Pippinfest, a community yard sale featuring food, entertainment, crafts, and lots of bustling activity! Located just 3 miles west of Granite Hill, about 6 minutes on Route 116, you can spend the weekend finding unique antiques and one-of-a-kind goodies at the various sales that line the quaint little town of Fairfield! Or if you prefer, hang with us at Granite Hill.  Watch the sun drop to the horizon from a paddle boat on Lake Lily, enjoy the late afternoon breeze while playing a couple rounds of mini golf, or see what treasure you discover with the mining sluice .  Saturday night come on down to Sterling Pavilion for a live concert presented by none other then our campers’ favorite, THE WILLY’S !

Enjoy crisp mornings and bluebird skies this fall at Granite Hill!  October is peak season for beautiful Adams County and Granite Hill. The National Apple Harvest Festival lies in the orchard-covered mountains surrounding the historic town of Gettysburg, PA. On the twenty minute drive from our campground, you will be submersed in robust pastoral scenes until you reach the town of Arendtsville. Gettysburg has many marks of a fangtastic Halloween vacation location—cool autumn weather, cozy cafes in which to get your pumpkin spice lattes, and frequent ghost sightings! Consequently, Halloween is so popular at Granite Hill that we consecutively host three Halloween weekends in a row during the month of October! Spend some spooky time with the ones you love going on a FREE ghost walk around the campground, roasting s’mores, trick or treating, and decorating pumpkins! Explore our bloodcurdling Haunted Civil War Barn (if you dare), or sashay down the streets of our campground in our costume parade! Whether it’s playing horseshoes, singing karaoke, or goblin’ down some food at the Red Shed Café, we’ve got something to ensure that everyone in the family has the Hallowtime of their life! We specter see you there!

 


VETERAN’S DAY WEEKEND

November 8-10, 2024

This weekend we salute our nation’s veterans!  We thank and honor all the men and women who have served in our country’s military. For more information regarding local events this weekend visit Destination Gettysburg! 

Please join us supporting the Marine Corp Toys for Tots by bringing a toy for the donation box.  Every toy donated earns a free round of mini golf.

When camping with us, please remember that when Mother Nature drops the temperatures below freezing, you must disconnect your hose and we will shut down the water system to prevent the pipes from icing over.  The water system and bathhouses are fully shut down as required by the weather.


DEDICATION DAY AND REMEMBRANCE DAY

November 15-17, 2024

Granite Hill is the perfect base for your travels, dually enabling you to join in on the festivities or retreat from all the hubbub. Join Gettysburg in honoring its history at the Gettysburg Remembrance Day Parade and the Annual Remembrance Illumination, both commemorating soldiers and civilians of the American Civil War. You’ll find making memories easy this weekend with such activities as the Old Fashioned Tree Lighting, with free hot chocolate, cookies, carols, and Clause; the Pop Up Pub at the Gettysburg Outlet Shoppes, where you can purchase the products of local breweries; or even the Annual Foothills Artists Studio Tour in nearby Fairfield, which is a free tour featuring the studios and works of local artists! Gettysburg Remembrance Day Parade is held on the 16th, in Gettysburg.

THANKSGIVING WEEKEND~ CLOSING WEEKEND.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Granite Hill! We are pleased to offer limited camping to guests for the holiday on Breezy Hill, Safari Area, Tenting Grove, Stoney Point, and our USA Tent Sites. The west bathhouse will remain open weather permitting, and the main camp section will be closed at this time. While the office will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, we’ll give you a reason to be thankful when it opens up on Friday—all gift items will be 30% off on Black Friday! A welcome packet will be left at the night registration box for anyone arriving after hours! Don’t turk us for Granite, call to make your reservations today!

WINTER INFORMATION

Camping Facilities are Closed December through March: However, if you are passing through Gettysburg and need a place to stay, give us a call and we will try to accommodate!

Winter Office Hours: Closed December 13- January 2. Open January through March: Monday through Friday 9-5, Closed on Saturdays & Sundays.  If our office is closed, please submit an online reservation request and we will call to confirm your reservation when the office reopens. Please keep in mind that if you submit a reservation request over the weekend, your reservation will be confirmed on the next business day.

Is your SCOUT TROOP interested in a WINTER CAMP out?  Then give us a call!  Winter camping is a big hit for scouts!  Set your tents up on Breezy Hill or the MG Line and use the pavilion behind the office for cooking and meals!  Bathrooms are conveniently located by the office. Reservations required.
